365mc, a medical institution specializing in obesity care, said Friday that it signed an agreement with a cloud/AI company, Naver Cloud, to build a smart hospital capable of AI-based obesity treatment.
A smart hospital is optimized for the safety and convenience of patients and medical staff through process automation based on the latest digital infrastructure such as cloud, AI, big data, and robots.
In the case of obesity, which is a chronic disease, providing customized treatment considering the patient's physical characteristics and lifestyle is important.
Through this agreement, 365mc plans to work with Naver Cloud to create big data with more than 6 million obesity treatment records and 500,000 diet records accumulated over the past 21 years, using them to lay the foundation for building a smart hospital system, including obesity diagnosis, treatment prognosis, and monitoring.
"365mc decided to work with Naver Cloud to analyze and utilize more than 6 million obesity treatment data more smartly," 365mc CEO Kim Nam-chul said. "The concepts of big data, AI, telemedicine, and precision medicine are already deeply penetrated in the medical industry, and we believe that obesity treatment based on massive data analysis is the most needed to build such a digital system."
"Domestic medical institutions are recently transforming into smart hospitals by building optimized digital systems centered on patients, such as robots and AI." said Yhim Tae-gun, Naver Cloud Sales Director, "Through this agreement, we expect to showcase cutting-edge healthcare services that apply AI technology as well as protect customer privacy."
Meanwhile, 365mc is accelerating the development of healthcare systems centered on AI technology. A representative example is MAIL, an AI liposuction system co-developed with Microsoft in 2017, and last year, 365mc signed a business agreement with the Center for Digital Health of Kyung Hee University Hospital to develop digital health treatment services based on AI.
