Pharmgen Science said Friday that it has received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for Pharmgen Covid/Flu A&B Antigen Combo, a kit for the simultaneous diagnosis of Covid-19 and influenza A and B viruses.

The combo kit is a diagnostic device that detects covid-19 and influenza A&B antigens in nasopharyngeal swab specimens collected from patients with suspected respiratory tract infections.

With the combo kit, all tests can be performed with a single swab, making it easy to use and reducing patient burden. In addition, the test results are available quickly, in less than 15 minutes, the company said.

Also, the test results are displayed in different band colors, making it easy for testers to read.

"The continued emergence of new variants of the covid-19 virus and the large-scale flu pandemic have created a sense of urgency for national epidemic prevention," a Pharmgen Science official said. "We will supply many combo kits with excellent performance and convenience to help with early diagnosis and treatment."
