Canon Korea has signed a medical device transaction contract with Johnson & Johnson MedTech Korea.

Through the agreement, Canon Korea has acquired the rights to distribute Johnson & Johnson MedTech Korea's DePuy Synthes joint implants, which are used in orthopedics.

The two companies held a business agreement ceremony at Canon Korea's headquarters in southern Seoul in December 2023, attended by key executives, including Canon Korea CEO Park Joung-woo and Johnson & Johnson MedTech Korea CEO Oh Jin-yong.

Canon Korea said it would make the most of its distribution and sales network in addition to that of Johnson & Johnson MedTech Korea to promote various activities.

"Through this agreement, we expect to create synergies in the medical market," Canon Korea CEO Park said. “We will continue collaborating with more companies to expand our medical device business."
