T&R Biofab said Thursday that it has obtained sales approval from the Vietnamese government for TnR Mesh, its 3D printing medical device.

The device can print out 18 different biodegradable biomaterial implant models that can either regenerate or reconstruct defects due to trauma or craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery.

“The product is easy to shape during surgery and has few side effects,” the company said. “With the approval, we are planning to make a full-scale entry into the Vietnamese market as we have signed a supply contract with a local medical device distributor in the country last year.”

The company is also seeking the acquisition of permits and licenses from other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia, to expand the Southeast Asian market based on Vietnam, he added.

T&R Biofab is a venture company established in 2013 that specializes in biodegradable medical devices, bio-ink, organoid (artificial organ prototype), and 3D printing cell treatment agent by utilizing 3D printing technology.
