Huons Medicare said it has obtained CE marking for medical sterilizer Ophiclean. The certification indicates conformity with the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) in the European Union.

Ophiclean is used to disinfect a wide range of medical devices such as soft endoscopes.

The product can be used immediately after opening. It kills bacteria, fungi, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and viruses within five minutes, enabling high-level disinfection.

Ophiclean provides chemical disinfection of instruments highly contaminated by microorganisms, organic matter, or those directly applied to subcutaneous tissues and mucous membranes. It can also sterilize appliances suspected of being infected with the hepatitis B virus.

Earlier, the company obtained CE markings for medical device disinfectant Scoterin and acetic acid sterilizer Hemoclean.

Huons Medicare said it would accelerate overseas business, as its products have met the quality standards required by advanced countries including those in Europe. The company is already selling Scoterin and Hemoclean in Japan and Europe.

Every year, it participates in MEDICA, an international trade fair in Germany for medicine, to aggressively push for an entry in the global market.

After acquiring WeGreen, a developer of space sterilization equipment, Huons Medicare aims to enlarge its share in the global disinfection equipment market, it said.
