Viatris Korea said it appointed Bill Schuster, former representative director and head of branded business operations at Viatris Japan, as its new country manager.

Schuster brings more than 30 years of diverse business experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, and has experience as a senior leader in Asia, North and South America, and Europe.

Before his appointment at the Korean offshoot, Schuster was the head of Viatris Japan's branded business unit since the global launch of Viatris in 2020 and led the growth of a vast and diverse product portfolio in an increasingly competitive Japanese pharmaceutical market, Viatris Korea said.

Schuster has also played a pivotal role in transforming the digital channels in Japan, contributing to the strong growth of Viatris Japan, it added.

"I am very excited to be leading Viatris Korea, one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical industry in Korea," Schuster said. "I look forward to working closely with our employees to realize our mission of helping people live healthier at every stage of life, further strengthening our presence in the Korean market, and continuing to contribute to Korean society."

Schuster graduated from the University College Dublin, where he obtained a Science Ph.D. degree, and an MBA from INSEAD Business School in France.
