Diabetes during pregnancy is steadily increasing globally due to the growing number of older pregnant women and obese women of childbearing age. High blood sugar during pregnancy can have long-term effects on the health of the mother and fetus, making it important to have strict blood sugar management and continuous monitoring from the beginning of pregnancy.

CBMC and G2e have completed the development of DIA:MOM, a digital healthcare product that receives and monitors real-time blood glucose via Bluetooth when measuring blood glucose with a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and provides accurate insulin doses through its logic.

G2e will commercialize the DIA:MOM platform with the advice and evaluation of the hospital’s medical staff. CBMC plans to use DIA:MOM to manage the healthcare of pregnant women with diabetes during pregnancy more systematically and professionally. In addition, once the usability verification of the high-risk pregnancy health management platform currently under development is completed, the hospital will apply it to pregnant women.

"Diabetes during pregnancy is an important health issue for mother and fetus, requiring sophisticated management and monitoring," said Professor Ryu Hyun-mee of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at CBMC, who led the study. "By providing real-time blood glucose monitoring and customized coaching, DIA:MOM's solution will provide mothers with more treatment options and help them have a safer and healthier pregnancy."

CBMC President Yoon Sang-wook said, "We are very pleased to open a new chapter in diabetes management during pregnancy through this collaboration. "We will continue to strive to provide innovative solutions for maternal and fetal health through collaboration with cutting-edge technologies."

Besides Yoon, Lee Il-seop, director of the hospital’s Institute for Future Medical Research, G2e CEO Jeong Chang-beom, and CTO Lee Tae-min attended the signing ceremony at the CBMC.
