Huons Life Sciences, the finished pharmaceutical arm of the Huons Group, said Thursday it has appointed Lee Jae-hun, former head of its sales management headquarters, as its new CEO.

On Wednesday, Huons Life Sciences held an extraordinary shareholder meeting at its headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and elected the new CEO through a board of directors meeting.

Lee joined Huons in 1994 as a sales representative and has since served as a local branch manager, head of general hospitals headquarters, and general manager for sales management headquarters.

“I will spread the proactive and enterprising corporate culture of Huons to Huons Life Sciences and drive change through synergy with Huons,” Lee said. “I will do my best to build an organizational system to secure sustainable growth engines and accelerate business expansion.”

Huyons Life Sciences will restructure its product portfolio to align with the Huons Group’s vision of becoming a global total healthcare group. It also plans to expand its contract sales organization (CSO) and contract manufacturing organization (CMO) businesses to grow together with the group.

Last year-end, Huons signed an agreement to acquire shares of Crystal Life Sciences. Huons has since accelerated normalizing the acquired company by conducting a large-scale capital increase and investing in facilities at its Osong Plant in North Chungcheong Province. In April, Huons changed the affiliate’s name to Huons Life Sciences.
