Innerwave, a digital healthcare company, said Wednesday that it has signed a business partnership agreement with Ybrain, an electroceutical platform company, to contribute to the development of the digital health product industry.

The agreement's goal is to launch digital therapeutic devices and e-drug combination medical devices under the Digital Medical Products Act, which will take effect in January 2025. The companies will collaborate on clinical, licensing, and marketing efforts for nicotine use disorder.

The “Dr. Jin Nicojini” digital therapy device developed by Innerwave is now undergoing confirmatory clinical trials. It has been designated as an innovative medical device No. 67. Innerwave is preparing to complete and submit the clinical results report within the year. Dr. Jin Nicojini is a digital therapy device that helps people with nicotine use disorder successfully quit smoking.

In addition to the depression  electroceutical MINDD STIM, Ybrain is developing various electroceuticals and strengthening its lineup of electroceuticals for mental health in Korea.

The representatives of both companies agreed to secure the safety and effectiveness of digital medical products in accordance with the Digital Medical Products Act and to respond proactively to the industry's predictable regulatory environment.

"By combining our technological strengths, we will do our best to develop digital medical products with proven safety and effectiveness in the mental health field, including the treatment of nicotine addiction," Ybrain CEO Lee Ki-won said.

Innerwave CEO Lee Jin-woo said, "The digital healthcare market requires continuous response to technological innovation and business model evolution. We will continue to invest in fostering the digital medical device industry."
