Ajou University Hospital said on Tuesday that it would resume pediatric emergency care every Saturday starting on Nov. 9.

The hospital's emergency room has been providing limited care for pediatric patients aged 15 and under on Wednesdays and Saturdays, treating only extremely ill patients requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

“The existing medical staff has increased the hours of service, reducing the restriction from two days a week to one day,” the hospital said. “With the resumption of pediatric emergency service on Saturday, we will be able to treat pediatric patients 24 hours a day on weekends and better serve emergency patients.”

With hiring a new emergency department specialist, we will see pediatric patients seven days a week without restrictions starting in December, the hospital added.
