Yongin Severance Hospital, located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, said it opened an international clinic aimed at providing rapid and efficient medical services to foreign patients. The opening ceremony took place on Thursday in front of the clinic, located on the hospital’s first floor.

The new international clinic was established to meet the growing demand for healthcare from nearby U.S. military bases in Pyeongtaek and Osan, as well as to accommodate medical tourism patients.

Through the clinic, foreign patients will have access to expedited appointment scheduling, deferred payment options, and comprehensive support for consultations, examinations, and prescriptions.

Additionally, the clinic plans to provide accompanying services for health screenings for U.S. military personnel and their families.

To ensure smooth operations, the hospital has appointed administrative staff and nurses to oversee daily tasks and plans to recruit volunteer interpreters to enhance communication with foreign patients.

“We are delighted to offer more tailored medical services to our growing number of foreign patients since our opening,” Yongin Severance Hospital General Director Kim Eun-kyung said. “We aim to continue expanding our role as the sole university hospital in Yongin Special City by attracting a diverse range of international patients.”

In October of last year, Yongin Severance Hospital signed an agreement with International SOS, an insurance company that cares for U.S. military officials abroad, to establish a healthcare support system for the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK). The partnership has since allowed the hospital to provide outpatient, inpatient, and emergency medical services to USFK members and their families.
