As Korea’s annual general meeting (AGM) season approaches, pharmaceutical companies and holding firms have announced more than 300 billion won ($208 million) in cash dividend payouts.

Celltrion leads the list, planning to distribute 750 won per share, amounting to 153.8 billion won. Yuhan Corp. follows with a total payout of 37.5 billion won, distributing 500 won per common share (0.4 percent yield) and 510 won per preferred share (0.5 percent yield). 

GC Corp. and GC Biopharma will pay a combined 39.8 billion won. GC Corp. will distribute 500 won per common share and 505 won per preferred share, totaling 22.7 billion won, while GC Biopharma will pay 1,500 won per share (0.9 percent yield), amounting to 17.1 billion won.

JW Holdings and its affiliates announced a combined payout of 26.8 billion won. JW Holdings will distribute 115 won per share (3.8 percent yield), totaling 8.1 billion won. JW Pharmaceutical will pay 450 won per common share (1.9 percent yield) and 475 won per preferred share (1.6 percent yield), amounting to 11 billion won. JW Life Science has set a dividend of 500 won per share (4.4 percent yield), totaling 7.7 billion won.

The Huons Group companies collectively plan a payout of 10.3 billion won. Huons Global will distribute 250 won per share (3 billion won total), Huons will pay 330 won per share (3.9 billion won total), and Humedix will also distribute 330 won per share (3.4 billion won total).

Dongkook Pharmaceutical will pay 200 won per share, totaling 9.2 billion won. Daehan Pharmaceutical plans a 900 won per share dividend, totaling 5.3 billion won. Sam Chun Dang Pharm will distribute 200 won per share, amounting to 4.7 billion won. Handok plans to pay 200 won per share (1.7 percent yield), totaling 2.8 billion won, while Ilyang Pharmaceutical will distribute 150 won per common share and 175 won per preferred share, also amounting to 2.8 billion won.

Additional payouts include GC Wellbeing at 120 won per share (2.2 billion won total), Sinsin Pharmaceutical at 60 won per share (910 million won total), Jinyang Pharmaceutical at 150 won per share (1.7 billion won total), and Dae Hwa Pharmaceutical at 100 won per share (1.8 billion won total).

Celltrion will also issue a stock dividend of 0.05 shares per share, distributing 10.3 million new shares. Celltrion Pharm will issue 0.05 shares per share, totaling 2.07 million new shares, while BC World Pharm will distribute 0.1 shares per share, issuing 840,000 new shares.
