The Catholic University of Korea Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital surpassed 1,000 robotic surgeries on Wednesday, about two years after introducing the system.

Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital performed its first surgery with the fourth-generation Da Vinci Xi system in December 2022 and has since achieved excellent clinical results, surpassing 100 and 200 cases in a short period.

“I am grateful to the medical staff and patients who have trusted us to achieve 1,000 cases in a short time,” said Professor Lee Hae-nam of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, who also heads the Robotic Surgery Center at the hospital. “We will continue to strive to help patients regain their health through optimized surgery.”

Hospital officials said Bucheon St. Mary's Hospital Robotic Surgery Center provides safe, precise, and optimal care for patients in gynecology, urology, hepatobiliary surgery, otolaryngology, cardiovascular thoracic surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery.
