Ryu Kyung-ha, professor of pediatrics at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital, has received the Korean Society of Hematology's Academic Award.
Ewha Womans Medical Center announced on Monday that Ryu received the award at the recent International Congress of the Korean Society of Hematology (ICKSH 2025). Ryu is also the director of Ewha Womans University Medical Center.
The Academic Award of the Korean Society of Hematology is presented annually to no more than two researchers who have contributed to the development of hematology through continuous academic activities for more than 10 years in Korea.
Ryu is recognized as a leading authority in the field of pediatric oncology and hematologic malignancies in Korea. She was selected for her outstanding achievements in pediatric blood disease research and her contributions to the advancement of hematology through active academic involvement both domestically and internationally.
“I am pleased to be recognized for my contributions to the development of medicine in Korea,” said Ryu. “And I will continue my research to treat more patients with blood diseases.”
