GSK Korea said it has appointed Gunnar Riediger as its new General Manager (GM), effective Aug. 1.

Riediger began his career at GSK in 2004 through the company’s global Future Leaders Program and has since spent over two decades leading healthcare businesses across Latin America. Over the years, he has held key positions, including vaccines business unit head and biotech business unit head at GSK Brazil, as well as global vaccines market lead.

The company stressed that during such roles, Riediger had played a pivotal part in maximizing GSK’s pipeline potential, driving innovative market entry strategies, and fostering leadership development programs focused on “challenging thinking” and “accountability,” achieving strong business results in the process.

Most recently, Riediger was appointed as country President and GM of GSK Colombia in 2023, where he successfully launched major products across vaccines, specialty medicines, and oncology portfolios. Under his leadership, GSK Colombia was recognized as the fastest-growing multinational pharmaceutical company in the country in 2024.

Riediger’s appointment comes as GSK Korea continues to expand its portfolio and strengthen its position in vaccines, specialty care, and oncology, aligning with the company’s broader global strategy of advancing innovation-driven healthcare solutions.       

Meanwhile, Riediger’s predecessor, Maurizio Borgatta, has been appointed as the first Chief Operating Officer of GSK China.
