Yuhan, Samsung Biologics among World's Most Trusted Healthcare Companies by Newsweek

Four Korean biopharmaceutical companies have been named among the world's 60 most trusted companies in the healthcare and life sciences sector by taking places in the World's Most Trustworthy Companies 2024 rankings released by U.S. news magazine Newsweek.

In conjunction with global research firm Statista, Newsweek recently released its World's Most Trustworthy Companies 2024 Healthcare & Life Sciences rankings based on a survey of more than 70,000 respondents across 20 countries, measuring investor, customer, and employee trust.

It was the second time the survey has been released since last year, and among Korean companies, Yuhan Corp. ranked second. The company ranked third last year.

In August, Yuhan received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the combination of Rybrevant (amivantamab) and Leclaza (lazertinib; Lazcluze in U.S. name) for the first-line treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 deletion or exon 21 L858R substitution mutation.

Aside from Yuhan, Samsung Biologics ranked fourth, GC Biopharma ranked 58th, and Hanmi Pharmaceutical ranked 59th in the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector of the World's Most Trusted Companies 2024.

Samsung Biologics, which ranked second in the Healthcare & Life Sciences category of the World's Most Trusted Companies last year, dropped two spots in this year's ranking.

GC Biopharma debuted on the World's Most Trusted Companies list this year, ranking 58th in the Healthcare & Life Sciences category.

Hanmi Pharmaceutical, which ranked 18th on last year's list, ranked 59th on this year's list.

Australia's Cochlear took the top spot on the 2024 World's Most Trusted Companies Healthcare & Life Sciences list, as it did last year, and the United States had the most companies on the list, with 18 in total.
