Lunit said on Thursday that it signed a contract to supply AI breast cancer screening solutions to large hospitals in Hong Kong and Mongolia.

Lunit will supply mammography AI image analysis solution, Lunit Insight MG, to Hong Kong's largest imaging center, Hong Kong Women's Imaging (HKWI), the National Cancer Center of Mongolia, and the Breast Clinic of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia.

HKWI is a medical institution specializing in breast cancer screening for women with the largest breast imaging capacity in Hong Kong, where it operates four branches. Lunit also said that they are discussing the introduction of its AI products with other hospitals through the Hong Kong Hospital Authority.

Meanwhile, the Breast Clinic of Ulaanbaatar was the first institution to introduce Lunit products in Mongolia, followed by Mongolia's National Cancer Center, the largest cancer hospital in Mongolia. Accordingly, Lunit expects to see a jump in the requests for their AI solutions from more medical institutions based on their contract with the National Cancer Center in Mongolia.

"In Mongolia, the incidence of breast cancer has been increasing recently," said Dr. Odbayar, a breast surgeon at the National Cancer Center. "The introduction of artificial intelligence will greatly help increase the productivity of medical staff while saving overall examination time and reducing medical service costs."

"This export to Hong Kong and Mongolia is expected to serve as a bridgehead for entering East Asian countries such as China and Singapore," said Lunit CEO Brandon Suh. "We plan to expand the adoption of our medical AI solutions by continuing to supply high-quality AI products and services to Asia."
