Myongji Hospital said it will host HiPex 2023 (Hospital Innovation and Patient Experience Conference 2023), the only conference in Korea that seeks answers to hospital innovation from patient experience, in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, for three days from June 21-23.
The annual event, launched in 2014 ahead of the government's medical quality assessment measuring the level of medical services provided by medical institutions to patients and evaluating each medical institution, has attracted experts across all industries including the medical community to share various innovative cases and experiences.
The Korean Doctors’ Weekly, a sister paper of Korea Biomedical Review, and Samjong KPMG, a leading accounting and consulting firm, will co-host the event.
HiPex 2023 will go completely offline for the first time in four years, with Korea in the Covid-19 endemic phase.
Themed on the three keywords -- technology, empathy, and process innovation --, the conference will feature seven lectures, two case studies, three rounds of panel discussions, six workshops, and a mini-concert over three days.
On the first day of the event, Min Kyeong-joong, director of Korea Biomedical Review Meta-Health Lab and the former Secretary General of the Korea Communications Standards Commission, will give a lecture on the future of healthcare in light of ChatGPT and CES, the U.S. consumer tech show.
Other speakers include Rha Koon-ho, head of Naver's Healthcare Research Institute, and Professor Eom Joong-sik, an infectious disease expert at Gachon University Gil Medical Center,
During the workshop, Myongji Hospital will showcase innovative cases of operating room remodeling, space enhancement, workforce optimization, and process improvements.
Additionally, the hospital will share inspiring stories about the development of the Sky Maru (faculty research room), which emphasizes space and culture, as well as the integrated and differentiated approach in the newly remodeled rehabilitation center, prioritizing patient-centric care.
Registration is available at the HiPex website.
