Lunit Insight CXR is software that utilizes AI-based technology to assist medical professionals by reading 10 chest diseases, such as lung nodules, lung hardening, and pneumothorax.

NPH, located in Songpa-gu, southeastern Seoul, is a public medical center that provides medical services to police and fire officials nationwide and is also open to police families and the general public.

Under the accord, the company will supply Lunit Insight CXR to the hospital for one year to help diagnose lung diseases in patients, including police and firefighting officials.

Specifically, the hospital will utilize Lunit’s AI solution to precisely read chest X-rays during patient screening in the emergency and respiratory departments.

Starting with public health centers in 2019, Lunit has supplied its AI solutions to military hospitals and local medical centers, including the Armed Forces Medical Command and the Armed Forces Capital Hospital.

The company also plans to expand its public healthcare business by supplying products to overseas military and police hospitals this year.

the introduction of Lunit Insight CXR, we expect to provide better medical services to patients by reducing reading time and improving diagnostic accuracy," NPH President Kim Jin-hak said.

Lunit CEO Suh Beom-suk said, "Lung-related diseases are especially common among military and police officials because they live in groups."

The company will strive to provide advanced medical services based on AI so that they can perform their duties safely, Suh added.

Lunit has actively expanded its B2G (business-to-government) business in the global public healthcare sector, winning the exclusive right to operate the New South Wales (NSW) state government's BreastScreen NSW tender last year. This year, it also confirmed its participation in the SEHA Virtual Hospital project, a central task of Saudi Arabia's national strategic project.
