According to Lotte Biologics, Lee attended and delivered a keynote speech at the “Life Science Baltics” event in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, on Wednesday. “Life Science Baltics” is the largest bio-pharmaceutical industry forum in Baltic Sea countries, organized by the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation. This year's event reportedly attracted about 800 participants from 40 countries.

At the forum, CEO Lee gave a presentation titled “How the Challenge of an Aging Population is Fueling the Rise of Automation and Advanced Therapies: The Case Study of Asia."

His presentation focused on the importance of automation systems for smooth drug supply as the demand for high-quality biopharmaceuticals increases due to the rising incidence of diseases caused by an aging population. In line with Lotte Biologics' vision to “supply medicines for a healthier world,” Lee added that the company plans to actively introduce data analysis and manufacturing technology automation systems for improved manufacturing efficiency and quality management systems.

During his visit to Lithuania, Lee also met with Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė and participated in the “Korea-Lithuania Bio-Industry Roundtable” of business and government leaders from both countries. The company said Lee's proactive actions laid the foundation for stronger cooperation between the two countries in the bio-industry while systematically building global business networking.

"Through this visit to Lithuania, we hope to accelerate cooperation and friendship in the bio-industry and achieve future-oriented development between the two countries," Lee said.

On Thursday (local time), Lee attended the “Pharma Forum 2023” organized by Optima, a leading German equipment manufacturer, and shared his views on the latest technological trends and prospects in finished drug products with experts from various industries.
