Lotte Healthcare held a press conference at Lotte World Tower on Thursday to celebrate the launch of Cazzle, its personalized healthcare platform, signaling its entry into the digital healthcare market.

The official launch of the open-access platform Cazzle is scheduled for Sept.18 and users can start using it immediately after completing identity verification.

However, some services on the platform will be limited based on the granted permissions.

For example, if you agree to provide and utilize health checkup information when signing up for Cazzle, you can use a service that retrieves the past 10 years of health checkup data from the National Health Insurance Service and analyzes it comparatively through an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm.

Furthermore, if you complete a health survey, input medical information, and undergo a genetic test, the service becomes more personalized.

Overall, the platform will provide customized health information and shopping convenience by integrating and analyzing medical examination data, health survey information, genetic test results, and exercise, diet, and nutritional supplements that can be directly recorded in real time with artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.

Lotte Healthcare also mentioned its efforts to move on from the technology theft dispute with Algocare related to a similar nutrient dispenser at this year's CES tech show by connecting the platform with services from Lotte Group affiliates and partners such as Theragen Bio and Ontact Healthcare. The platform will connect to Theragen Bio's microbiome and genomic testing business and Ontact Healthcare's algorithm to analyze the user's health status and predict future health risks to suggest products suitable for individuals.

The genetic testing service, Fromgene, will provide direct-to-consumer (DTC) test results for 69 genes, covering aspects such as nutrients, skin, hair, eating habits, and exercise characteristics, presented in 19 different categories for easier comprehension of your genetic advantages.

Additionally, the company plans to sequentially roll out other services on the platform to attract 1 million subscribers by the end of next year.

In November, Lotte Healthcare will launch a mental health counseling service on Cazzle in collaboration with Atommerce, a digital mental care startup that helps users connect with mental health professionals via the mobile app MiNDCAFE. Furthermore, in March next year, Lotte Healthcare plans to provide a customized weight management program that encompasses not just diet management but also the user's lifestyle, genetic characteristics, medical data analysis, and microbiome-based gut health management.

The company also plans to introduce scalp and skin care services in collaboration with Beacon in June and neuro-health care services in partnership with iMediSync in November, although the specific details of these services were not disclosed.

Based on a recent MOU that Lotte Healthcare signed with iMediSync, the platform is likely to expand to enable early monitoring and personalized care for mental health across diverse settings with a focus on wellness and senior care. It is also expected to provide EEG measurement services for users.

Lotte Healthcare's Executive General Manager Woo Woong-jo also shared that the platform will also incorporate OpenAI's ChatGPT by the first half of next year to introduce a chatbot service to allow customers to quickly and easily record their current status. The recorded information, along with health data, will help suggest personalized diets and nutrition, as well as suitable exercises and products.

A preview of the platform was also shown, highlighting the ability to provide health data at a glance, including your genetic test results, actual age, and healthy age, as well as your risk of developing major diseases in the future by synthesizing your health checkup records.

Additionally, the platform will display daily health indicators, assist with medication management, and showcase the health activities of friends and family to aid in the development of healthy habits.

Emphasizing the platform’s mission to make health easy and enjoyable, Lotte Healthcare's platform manager Jang Seok-won said that users will be incentivized to gain points which can be redeemed like cash for completing set missions.

Addressing security issues, Lotte Healthcare’s CTO Park Won-joon explained that Cazzle runs on the cloud and data infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS) so the various services are individually modularized and can be scaled and combined as needed.  Additionally, security solutions are separately managed in the Lotte Cloud and Cazzle will also encrypt all personal information using the AES 256 algorithm which uses an impenetrable encryption key.

"We focused on creating a healthcare playground that has never existed in Korea by utilizing Lotte Group's success in B2C business and infrastructure and expect it to contribute to improving the health of citizens," said Lotte Healthcare CEO Lee Hoon-ki.
