The AI Center is a collaborative research center between Vatech and Yonsei University to develop various technological elements for dental and medical X-ray diagnostic equipment.

The ceremony was attended by Suh Seoung-hwan, president of Yonsei University, and Ro Chang-joon, chairman of Vatech.

Vatech has established a research space with the latest equipment at Yonsei University Sinchon Campus, donating X-ray CT equipment worth 500 million won ($387 thousand) to provide a high-level research environment for the development of medical X-ray equipment.

The AI Center is operated in open Innovation where various researchers with expertise can flexibly participate.

Researchers from Yonsei University's College of Artificial Intelligence, the College of Dentistry, and the Bioimaging Data Institute will collaborate to develop various technological elements for use in dental and medical X-ray diagnostic equipment.

"AI Center that Yonsei University and Vatech are creating together will not only serve as a hub for medical imaging quality improvement, but also as a platform to nurture the next generation of innovators - physicians, scientists, and AI engineers - who will drive medical AI research," said Suh Seoung-hwan, president of Yonsei University.

Vatech has been collaborating with Yonsei University since 2010 to develop X-ray imaging technology.

Ro Chang-joon, chairman of Vatech, said he looks forward to developing and commercializing various new technologies that will lead the dental and medical markets.
