According to their memorandum of understanding, the two partners will also co-develop ECG big data research and analysis programs.

GE Healthcare will build multi-organizational data and provide technical support using MAC2000, its equipment that measures ECG, and MUSE NX, its integrated ECG management system.

Medical AI will analyze electrocardiogram data in-depth through bio-signal measurement and telemedicine business linked to medical staff.

"We expect our ECG solution and Medical AI's big data AI technology capabilities will combine to provide precise and efficient solutions for medical professionals and patients," GE Healthcare Korea CEO and President Kim Eun-mi said.

Medical AI's technical director, Kwon Jun-myung, also said, "Through this cooperation in ECG AI reading technology, we will be able to help by providing a more accurate diagnosis of heart disease patients and solving the lack of specialists in a medical environment that require assistance in ECG reading."

Medical AI is a startup established by a spin-off from Sejong Hospital Group in 2019 to develop medical solutions and application software.

In March, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety approved the company's ECG analysis software, which analyzes the ECG by applying AI technology and predicts the ECG results and cardiac arrest within 24 hours, as Korea's ninth innovative medical device.
