Coreline Soft, a Korean company specializing in AI-powered medical imaging, announced its expansion into the U.S. market by providing three flagship products to the Temple Lung Center at Temple University Hospital.
The products include AVIEW LCS, a lung nodule analysis software, AVIEW COPD, an automated analysis tool for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and AVIEW CAC, a coronary artery calcium scoring software.
Coreline Soft said Temple Lung Center (TLC) in Philadelphia, PA was "the world's first" to implement the minimally invasive bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) procedure.
The technique reduces damaged lung tissue to improve the function of healthier regions, revolutionizing care for patients with severe lung diseases. Following FDA approval, TLC has led major research in BLVR and continues to focus on early detection and prevention through initiatives like the Temple Healthy Chest Initiative, which uses low-dose CT (LDCT) scans for lung cancer screening and early diagnosis of lung nodules and other chest diseases.
Coreline Soft believes that its AVIEW products will play a significant role in TLC’s clinical and research activities, assisting with early diagnosis, identifying comorbidities, and enabling personalized follow-up care.
This collaboration marks a notable shift for Coreline Soft, as the company expands its customer base beyond radiology departments to include pulmonologists and lung centers.
“This move diversifies our customer base from radiologists to pulmonologists, widening Coreline Soft's footprint in the U.S. medical market,” said Lee Jae-heon, head of Coreline Soft North America. “At a recent U.S. conference, Dr. Gerard J. Criner, TLC Director and Chair of Thoracic Medicine at Temple University, highlighted the utility and reliability of AVIEW products, garnering positive attention from attendees.”
The company’s success in the U.S. hinges on understanding the nuances of state-specific healthcare laws and systems, Lee added.
Lee stressed that the company is collaborating with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to navigate regulations, keep up with the latest research, and build strong partnerships.
Meanwhile, the company is also set to participate in the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2024, the largest radiology conference in North America, in Chicago, Il, from Dec. 1-5, showcasing its AVIEW product lineup.
