Yonsei University College of Medicine and the KAIST Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering (GSMSE) signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday to establish a collaborative foundation for future-oriented medical research and human resource development.

According to the university, as the convergence of medicine, science, and technology becomes increasingly important, Yonsei University College of Medicine aims to create a synergistic partnership by combining its strengths in clinical and basic medicine with the convergence research capabilities of KAIST’s GSMSE.

Through this agreement, the two institutions will exchange research personnel and information, conduct joint convergence research projects, share educational and research infrastructure, and collaborate to expand their global research network. They also aim to go beyond basic academic exchange to foster convergent talent and build a sustainable research ecosystem.

“This agreement will serve as an essential foundation for building a leading research and education system in the field of medical sciences by combining the unique capabilities of both institutions,” said Choi Jae-young, dean of Yonsei University College of Medicine. “We look forward to actively sharing our accumulated experience and resources to open new possibilities in medical science together.”

Park Su-hyung, dean of KAIST GSMSE, said, “This collaboration with Yonsei University College of Medicine marks a significant step forward for KAIST GSMSE in interdisciplinary research and talent development. We will work together to enhance the global competitiveness of Korea’s biomedical sciences as we move toward our common goals.”
