Varian Medical Systems Korea (Varian Korea) will begin operating independently starting Wednesday, separating from the “Zone SEAK (Southeast Asia & Korea)” structure that previously oversaw both regions.
Acquired by Siemens Healthineers in 2021, Varian Korea specializes in radiation therapy for cancer, supplying advanced equipment and related software.
Regarding the organizational shift, Varian Korea said the move is a strategic step to sharpen market focus and strengthen tailored customer support, as Korea has now grown large enough to warrant its own independent subsidiary.
“The launch of the independent Korean subsidiary marks an important turning point, opening a new chapter for the domestic market,” said Han Hee-chul, the newly appointed country manager who joined Varian Korea in March.
Han added, “Moving forward, we will lead precision cancer treatment in Korea through the synergy created by Siemens Healthineers’ imaging technology and Varian’s radiation therapy solutions. We will also contribute to the development of the domestic medical industry through close collaboration with our customers and partners.”
