Professor Kim Jin-goo, the former president of the hospital, graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and has previously served as the Vice President of Inje University Seoul Paik Hospital and the Director of the Sports Medicine Center at Konkuk University Medical Center.

Since assuming the position of Myongji Hospital President in 2019, Kim has spearheaded the establishment of an integrated medical system for sports injuries and led the hospital’s efforts in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic and restoring normal medical services.

As a renowned expert in sports medicine and knee surgery, he has contributed significantly to the advancement of the field by founding the Sports Medicine Center and the Sports Medicine Research Institute, promoting systematic research and clinical achievements.

Under his leadership, the hospital has successfully performed over 3,000 anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgeries.

Also, he has been instrumental in expanding the "Exercise is Medicine (EIM)" campaign and organizing academic symposiums involving doctors, nurses, and exercise specialists, playing a pivotal role in elevating sports medicine in Korea to the highest level in Asia.

Professor Kim Byung-in graduated from Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine. As the hospital’s former Deputy Director, he contributed to improving the quality of medical services and enhancing the efficiency of medical staff management.

Notably, as the Director of the Northwestern Gyeonggi Regional Emergency Medical Center, President Kim played a crucial role in treating critically ill emergency patients and providing rapid medical support during large-scale disasters.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, he led Myongji Hospital’s proactive response and ensured seamless emergency patient care.

He is also serving as the President of the Korean Society of Disaster Medicine, contributing to the enhancement of emergency medical systems.

Myongji Medical Foundation expressed confidence in the expertise and leadership of the two newly appointed executives, emphasizing their commitment to patient-centered care, strengthening the regional healthcare safety net, and addressing the ongoing healthcare crisis.

“We aim to establish Myongji Hospital as one of Korea’s leading medical institutions under their guidance,” the foundations said.
