Wellysis said Wednesday that it has entered into a business collaboration with Samsung Electronics' System LSI Division to develop the next model of S-Patch, a wearable ECG measurement device.

The collaboration follows the recent approval of the S-Patch Ex Patch System model by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The two companies plan to speed up their entry into the U.S. market by developing a follow-up model, Wellysis added.

In collaboration with Samsung Electronics, Wellysis will provide various health data analysis models, including electrocardiograms, using the Smart Health Processor, a chip dedicated to collecting and processing multiple bio-signals from the latter’s System LSI division.

To this end, Wellysis and Samsung Electronics signed an agreement in June to jointly develop and promote next-generation wearable vital sign measurement devices globally. They are also preparing to expand the healthcare program for Samsung employees and monitoring services for high-risk special occupations.

The next-generation S-Patch model with multiple biosignal analysis functions was displayed at Samsung Electronics' booth at the SEDEX 2023 last month.
