CHICAGO, Ill. -- By Lee Han-soo/Korea Biomedical correspondent – Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as the centerpiece of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2023 conference, cementing its position in the new era of medical imaging.
The world's largest radiological conference, RSNA 2023, commenced on Sunday at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Ill. the U.S.
According to the organizers, the exhibition will be participated by more than 650 in-person technical exhibits, including over 100 first-time exhibitors, occupying 365,500 square feet.
At this year's event, radiologists and industry experts from around the globe have converged to delve into the transformative impact AI technologies are having on the field.
With a record number of research presentations and exhibits dedicated to AI, including 38 sessions focused on AI, the conference underscores a significant shift towards intelligent diagnostic procedures, efficiency in workflow, and personalized patient care.
This focus signals a collective acknowledgment of AI's crucial role in shaping the future of medical imaging and patient care.
Korea Biomedical Review captured some of the scenes and booths of multinational pharmaceutical and Korean companies exhibiting at the RSNA 2023 meeting. RSNA 2023 is open from Sunday to Thursday this week.
The technology exhibit at RSNA 2023 was dominated by the AI Showcase area, featuring over 90 companies. This section provided exciting opportunities for attendees to witness the latest AI software and product demonstrations, highlighting the strong presence of Korean firms with advanced AI-integrated video technologies.
Other Korean companies, such as Neurophet, ClariPi, Coreline Soft, and Monitor Corporation, were also located throughout the AI showcase zone and attracted attention from visitors.
Korean medical device manufacturers also unveiled new products, showcasing their commitment to innovation and the development of sophisticated tools aimed at enhancing diagnostic accuracy and improving patient outcomes.
The Korean Pavilion, sponsored by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Korea Medical Devices Industry Association (KMDIA), also showcased various up-and-coming Korean medical device companies and AI medical imaging companies.
While Korean companies showed a large presence in the AI Showcase zone, multinational medical device companies also focused on AI this year, with many of them integrating AI software into their devices.
