Philips Korea said it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital to develop a smart electrocardiogram (ECG) big data system.
ECGs, which measure the heart's electrical activity, are crucial for diagnosing and assessing heart conditions such as arrhythmias and coronary artery disease.
The hospital will utilize Philips' IntelliSpace ECG Management System to collect big ECG data and develop AI algorithms to assist clinical diagnostics.
The collaboration aims to enhance cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diagnosis and improve clinical workflows through academic and technological exchanges with both domestic and international medical institutions.
"This partnership marks a significant step towards creating a smart ECG and cardiovascular big data system for more precise cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diagnostics," Philips Korea CEO Park Jae-in said. "Philips is committed to providing our solutions and actively collaborating with our global headquarters and various academic exchanges."
Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital Cardio-Cerebrovascular Center Director Kim Sang-wook also said, "We are thrilled to lay the foundation for more accurate and swift diagnostics using advanced ECG and cardiovascular big data."
Leveraging Philips' extensive experience in the smart hospital sector, the hospital will strive to become a leading smart healthcare institution, Kim added.
