Huons Meditech, a medical device company under Huons Group, said it recently received the $7 million Export Tower Award from the Korea International Trade Association (KITA).

The KITA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy annually recognize companies that successfully make inroads into foreign markets and contribute to the nation’s export growth. 

Huons Meditech was acknowledged for its aggressive overseas market business since 2015, despite global headwinds in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, and achieving $7 million in export, the company said. 

Also, Huons Meditech CEO Cheon Cheong-woon was awarded the Presidential Citation for his efforts in pioneering overseas markets and expanding exports. 

Huons Meditech has demonstrated strong performance in Europe and China, with a strategic emphasis on Derma Shine—a medical device designed for the consistent injection of medicines --, Derma Shine Balance, an automatic injection system featuring pressure-sensitive technology, and multi-needles used in both products.

Other products such as extracorporeal shock wave-based urinary stone treatment lithotripsy, infection control endoscope disinfectors, and medical disinfectants have also contributed to the increase in exports.

Cheon Cheong-woon, CEO of Huons Meditech, said, "The recognition with the export tower award reflects our dedicated efforts in customizing infection control products and advancing into emerging markets in Asia, with a primary focus on China, our key market." 

He added that the company would keep concentrating on global markets and extending its presence in Europe, the Middle East, and South America.
