Huons has undertaken efforts to enhance the quality of life for individuals with diabetes.

On Tuesday, Huons announced its decision to donate 6,000 Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitors to individuals with type 1 diabetes through the Korean Society of Type 1 Diabetes.

The company explained that its decision aims to prevent complications and improve the quality of life of people with type 1 diabetes. The donated Dexcom G6 monitors will help diabetic patients manage their blood sugar.

Type 1 diabetes is difficult to treat and requires careful management, requiring devices to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia and resulting in high medical costs.

Huons expects its donation to improve access to diabetes management for people with diabetes who must use continuous glucose monitors due to frequent blood sugar fluctuations, improving their quality of life and healthcare costs. Huons Group Chairman Yoon Sung-tae reportedly directed the donation upon hearing an appeal from the patient group Korean at an emergency news conference on Monday.

"We decided to donate a continuous glucose monitor, Dexcom G6, to help patients struggling with diabetes," the company said in a news release. "We will continue to do our best to help diabetes patients."

An official at the patient group agreed, saying, "Continuous glucose monitors prevent complications of type 1 diabetes and will help to improve the quality of life."

In June of last year, Huons also provided Dexcom G6 transmitters for patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes.
